WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDIES – Our new Women’s Bible Studies will begin next week. Our topics include the faithfulness of God, overcoming fear and anxiety, deepening your relationship with Jesus, a study of the first 11 chapters of Genesis, and a study of the book of John. KIDS MINISTRY – This Sunday we are beginning to reimplement kids ministry for nursery through Pre-K during our 11:15AM service. Pre-registration for this weekend is closed, and walk-ins cannot be accommodated. But be sure to respond to the email that goes out on Monday if you’d like to register your kids for next weekend. You’ll receive more info about the safety measures we have put into place, as well as instructions for check-in. If you have any questions, please email info@calvaryboise.com.

EMERGENCY RELIEF: Ales & Whitney Lajlar, our missionaries in Slovenia – On Monday night (September 14), while their family was sleeping, Ales and Whitney Lajlar’s house was broken into. Several men entered their house, and stole most of their electronics: TV, computer, tablets, Bluetooth headsets, etc. They estimated the damage to be about $3600. Praise God that nobody was hurt. Please pray for their hearts, as they are understandably shaken up. Click here if you would like to help financially.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2020

As you may have heard, we are starting to re-open our Kids Ministry with kids classes for nursery through Pre-K beginning this Sunday, September 20 at the 11:15AM service. In order to move forward as safely as possible, we are requiring pre-registration for all kids who will attend. We will not be able to accommodate walk-ins. Click here to register your kids for nursery through Pre-K for Sunday, September 20.

In addition to pre-registration, here are a few of the extra precautions we are taking right now:

  • All children’s ministry team members will be wearing masks.
  • All children age 3 and up will be required to wear masks.
  • Temperature checks before entering
  • Only one guardian with child for drop-off and pick-up
  • Limited class sizes
  • Increased sanitization and hand washing
  • We are asking anyone with symptoms of illness to stay home.

Online registration will be available each week until 12:00AM on Thursday morning, or when it fills up, whichever comes first. For any of you who miss the registration cutoff, or for those who are not comfortable with our current policies, the 9:15AM and 11:15AM family services continue to be a great option.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing many of your kids this weekend!

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2020

Watch this video from Pastor Tucker and Pastor Rhett for some exciting news.

As we continue to reintroduce some of the ways we connect as a church family, the next thing on the list is Kids’ Ministry. Beginning Sunday, September 20, we will have kids classes for children pre-kindergarten and younger during our 11:15AM service. Please read through the details listed below.

Additionally, if you didn’t receive this update via email, be sure to text the word “connect” to 208-321-7440 to sign up to receive future information as it is released.

PRECAUTIONS:

In order to prioritize the safety of all who participate, we will require that all volunteers and kids ages three and older wear masks. Additionally, we will be practicing social distancing as much as possible. We have modified some of our activities to allow for interaction without close physical proximity. Although this will be a little different than it has been in the past, we are confident that we will be able to serve and love the kids who attend.

REGISTRATION:

To streamline preparation, we will be requiring parents to pre-register their kids. We will not be able to accommodate walk-ins. With that in mind, we will send out an email on Monday containing the link to the following weekend’s kids ministry registration for nursery through Pre-K. Class sizes are limited, so be sure to fill that out right away. Registration will close on Thursday morning, or when classes are full, whichever comes first.

VOLUNTEERS:

A lot of you have been asking how you can get involved in serving at our church, and this is a great opportunity to do just that. In order to serve our kids with excellence, we will need people to help in each classroom, as well as in other areas. If you are new to serving in Kids Ministry, please join us for an orientation this Sunday, September 13 at 1:00PM in the Sanctuary. If you are unable to attend, click here to get signed up for the next orientation.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2020

We would like to take this opportunity to keep you up-to-date on what is happening in Kids and Students Ministries. Please take a few minutes to watch this video for more info.

While there are some things we just can’t do right now, there are a lot of things happening that allow us to serve your kids and the students of this church by bringing them together and teaching them about Jesus.

KIDS

The kids who come to Sunday services are joining their parents for family services. Additionally, we are providing “Kids Time Online” on Sundays at 11:15AM and Wednesdays at 6:30PM, which provides at-home discipleship opportunities through Facebook and YouTube. They give great opportunities to have important conversations with your kids about the Bible.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our Middle School Youth Group is meeting Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00PM at the Youth Building. A lot of the activities will be outdoors, and each meeting will include a Bible study. On the weekends, our middle schoolers join us for our family services and learn from the Bible alongside their parents.

HIGH SCHOOL

The High School Youth Group meets Thursdays at 7:00PM at the Youth Building for Bible study and activities. They are also joining us for family services on the weekend, in order to allow for students to connect with our church family and learn from our Lead Pastor. There are also opportunities for high schoolers to serve on our hospitality team at weekend services.

We are grateful for the opportunities we have to minister to the kids and youth of this church, and are continually praying and working through plans for the future. We would love to have you join us in praying for God’s direction as we move forward.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2020

Please take a couple minutes to watch this video from Pastor Tucker.

We love connecting with so many of you on the weekends, either on-site or online. It has been a blessing to see the Lord bringing new people, who have settled in and made this church their home, as well as welcoming back so many of you who we haven’t seen for a while. We are hopeful that as we continue to follow the Lord’s leading in providing as many opportunities as possible to connect and worship and learn together, we will continue to see Him prove Himself faithful to do His work in and through us.

Although our normal flow of events has been interrupted, God has given us a lot of opportunities to reach out to and connect with so many of you. Because we’ve seen so much fruit from these meetings, we want to make sure everyone has the information they need to get involved, according to your comfort level.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 2020

Please take a couple minutes to watch this video from Pastor Tucker.

In light of this week’s decision by Central District Health to limit social gatherings in Ada County to 10 people or fewer, we wanted to give you a detailed update on what we are doing at Calvary Boise moving forward.

The order includes an exemption for “gatherings in places of worship for the purpose of exercising religious activities.” With that in mind, we will continue with our weekend services the same way we have been.

We’d like to thank those of you who have been in attendance over the past several weeks for the ways you have cared for one another by social distancing and wearing masks. We will continue to do the same this weekend. They are simple ways we can show love to one another, especially the most vulnerable among us.

WEEKEND SERVICES:

With all that in mind, this Sunday, August 16, 2020, we will be having services at 9:15AM and 11:15AM, and the details are listed below. We would love to have you join us in whichever way makes you feel comfortable. For those of you who choose to join from home, we would like to encourage you to gather with friends, with your Home Group, or host a watch party on Facebook. These are all great ways to continue in fellowship while we are distancing.

We will have limited seating in a few different locations on campus for on-site services, to provide space for proper distancing. As of last weekend, we have not quite reached the capacity that has been deemed safe for our space. Therefore, we have room for a few more people to join us.

  • Livestream: Sunday at 9:15AM on calvaryboise.com, Facebook, and YouTube
  • On-Site Family Services: Sunday at 9:15AM and 11:15AM (limited seating, and no kids classes provided)

Remember, if you are immunocompromised or at high risk, please stay home. If you or any member of your household is showing symptoms, or has been exposed to someone who has tested positive in the past two weeks, please stay home.

In addition to our weekend gatherings, additional connection opportunities will continue to be available through Calvary Boise Online. Visit calvaryboise.com/online for a listing.

We appreciate your patience and prayers as we seek the Lord to bring Him glory and serve our church family and our community. We look forward to connecting with many of you this weekend. In the meantime, if you have prayer requests, please send them to prayer@calvaryboise.com.

It has been a joy to connect with so many of you over the past few weeks online and in person at our weekend gatherings. WEEKEND SERVICES:

Thank you to all of you who read and honored the notice that went out last week regarding watching online. Although we love gathering together in person, we have been praying that God would bless the smaller gatherings that are happening as a result of social distancing.

This Sunday, July 5, 2020, we would like to encourage you to continue to gather with friends, with your Home Group, or host a watch party, and join us online.

We will again have limited seating in a few different locations on campus for on-site services, and would like to make those seats available to people who are new or visiting, don’t have people to watch with, and those who don’t receive our updates. So, if you or your family would prefer to meet on-site, or if you weren’t able to get a group together, join us on campus. We will be welcoming people in until we reach the capacity that has been deemed safe for our spaces.
