And my God shall supply all you need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.       -Philippians 4:19.

More than a 100 years after his death George Muller remains an inspiration to everyone who hopes to live a life by and through prayer.
As director of the Ashley Down Orphanage in Bristol, England he cared for more than 10,000 children over the course of his lifetime. He also established 117 Christian schools, educating more than 120,000 students including many orphans. He accomplished all this without ever soliciting a donation. His life’s work was funded completely by prayer. Whatever he did, he asked that it would be accomplished completely “to the glory of God.”

Here are his thoughts on Philippians 4:19: All believers in the Lord Jesus are not called upon to establish orphan houses, schools for poor children, etc., and trust in God for their means to do so. Yet, all believers, according to the will of God concerning them in Christ Jesus, may cast, and ought to cast, all their care upon Him who cares for them. No Christian should be anxiously concerned about anything, as is plainly seen according to 1 Peter 5:7; Philippians 4:6; and Matthew 6:24-25.

Take his advice to heart. Whatever concerns you today, give it to Jesus. He can handle it in ways you cannot yet imagine.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for Sarah’s ministry in Honduras.  She will be working with children at a school and working with the village people to do a variety of things including building houses. Pray for unity among the group and that they all stay in good health.

  • An anonymous request asks: Please pray for a miracle to reconcile an important relationship. I pray we are both ready to be forgiving, different people—humble and emotionally healthy. Still, I need prayers to find closure and peace and resist wrong feelings. I know God has a way.

  • Pray for Michelle who is stressed emotionally and physically. She continues to have trouble sleeping. Please ask God to bless her with a good night’s rest.

  • Pray for the elderly and shut-ins in our community to be well served by the church, so that they may develop their faith.

  • Pray for Josh whose wife of just a year says she wants a divorce. Cause them both to realize how much they need Jesus to be the foundation of their marriage. Pray that they will both return to the Savior they knew as children and dedicate themselves to lives of service to the Lord, pursuing His perfect will

  • Pray for Taylor, a man, who is very depressed and fearful. He does not understand his potential identity in Christ and seems resigned to a life of futility. Please pray that he will find Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Savior.
