Cultivate Leaders is a year-long process aiming to cultivate leaders at Calvary Boise. We will focus on growing in our knowledge of God’s word, growing our character, and finding a place in the story of God in and through Calvary Boise. Although the goal is to develop and raise up elders and ministry leaders (deacons) at Calvary Boise, there is not a guarantee that all participants will hold a position or office at the end of this process. Being an Elder/Pastor is not about a title, a task, or climbing some invisible church leadership ladder. It’s about actively shepherding the church. Likewise, being a ministry leader (deacon) is not about holding an office or position. It’s about actively serving to meet needs in and through our church family. For both roles, our process is not about how much knowledge we can cram into your head, but rather how much character we can build into your heart and soul. And yet, part of being a good shepherd or servant leader is actively leading. Caring for the church in this way also includes protecting it by being able to handle Scripture well and leading ministries with vision and direction.

We want you to get to the end of Cultivate Leaders with a deeper knowledge of Scripture and the truth of God’s word. We want your relationship with God to be stronger than it has ever been. We want you to understand God’s story and Calvary Boise’s story and we want your role in that story to be clearer than it ever has been before.

This process is a challenge that will push you, but there is a reason for that. Because we love you and we love the church, we want to cultivate the best shepherds and servant leaders we can.
