Our Upward Basketball League is actively seeking volunteer coaches! We currently have openings for about 20 coaches for our boys’ teams. We take coaching very seriously because it’s an amazing opportunity to pour Jesus’ love into these kids, many of whom do not attend church. We strive to have coaches who can be an example while teaching the kids basic biblical principles. It is very easy. There is a booklet that shows you exactly what to do for practice and devotionals, so it’s easy for coaching rookies to step into this role. You really just need a heart to have fun and love on these kids.
The time commitment is a one-hour practice per week and a one-hour game each Saturday. There is some flexibility as to what evening you would have your practice time, if you can get signed up right away. We will have a coaches’ training meeting December 11 at 9:00am to go over a lot of basics. We will be sending out short instructional videos to answer/demonstrate a lot of the basics for anyone who is unable to make that time work.

ABOUT UPWARD: Upward Basketball teaches children the love of the Lord, utilizing the sport of basketball. Besides teaching the fundamentals of the game, we will have devotions, pointing out specific character qualities that the Lord desires each of us to have and follow. We have a heart to serve families in our church body, and reach the children in our community and their families.
The league for boys and girls 1st through 7th grade will start with practices Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri (5:30 pm - 8:30 pm) January 3rd-March 4th. Our games will be on Saturdays, for an 8-week period, starting January 15th-March 5th.
