Question: Slido

Why are Slido questions deleted each week? Why not leave them up longer, allowing for more opportunity to upvote w/o having to re-write & re-vote every week?

Our Q&A is designed to provide opportunities for our church family to ask questions and receive answers in a timely manner. Although answers aren’t always provided the following week, I have a list of questions that our pastors and staff are working on to publish as soon as they are finished. At times, the questions provide opportunity to think through some of the answers in new ways, which can take more time when there are decisions or changes to be made.

Each week, I look through the list of questions that are submitted, and work with Pastor Tucker to get the right people working on the answers. Because time prohibits us from answering all of the questions, I do my best to give attention to those that receive the most upvotes, and provide an opportunity for others to be re-submitted. If you see a question you’d like to know the answer to, be sure to hit the upvote button!

When we began the Q+A we decided to provide a blank slate each week in Slido. We know that the age we live in is driven by scrolling, and if people have to sort through long lists, they usually only look at the first few items. This method provides equal opportunity to every question that gets submitted, including new submissions. If a new question had to contend with a list of questions that had been there for several weeks, for example, it could be quite some time before it received enough votes to be near the top, even if it was a common question.

I hope this brings a little clarity in this area. If you have questions about this, please reach out to me directly at jessica@calvaryboise.com.
