I thought Seth was appointed as our new Worship Pastor, but online it looks like he is listed as a "ministry leader." Why was Noah a pastor but Seth is not?
When Noah went on Sabbatical, Seth stepped in to lead our worship ministry. We are so thankful for his giftings, and willingness to lead us with passion and love for the Lord. While the trajectory Seth is on leads to becoming ordained as a pastor, for now he is serving as our worship ministry leader. As was the case with Connor Farnworth, who now serves as our communities pastor, when the Lord raises up someone with specific pastoral giftings, there is a process they go through to be discipled, most of the time on the job, to learn and grow in their spiritual gifts. This process typically lasts a couple of years, at which time they would be officially presented to the church and ordained. Seth is currently in the middle of this process. It’s now been nearly a year and a half that he’s been leading our worship ministry, and we have all been blessed by his faithfulness, and have seen him grow not only in his musical talents, but also in his pastoral gifting. When the time comes for Seth to be ordained, we as a church family will pray over him and commission him, so we can all help support him in his calling.
