Prayer

Daily Prayer Requests

  • Praying for my brother who has cancer in multiple areas of his body. Pray that he can take in good nutrition, get good sleep and be restored to full health.  Pray for him and his wife to have wisdom in pursuing various approaches to treatment.  Please pray he returns to his relationship with Jesus.  Pray for his wife to turn to Jesus too!

  • I have a hard time socializing with people and making connections. I work at the prison and it’s hard to find co-workers that are like-minded in their walks with the Lord.  I am praying I find fellowship and the ability to build relationships here.  I pray to connect with co-workers.  Please pray that I would not feel so lonely.  Thank you.

  • I am struggling with fear and sadness. My son is in jail with high hopes for an appeal.  God has many times taken my situation and made it ten times better than I could imagine!  Pray for Jamus and his daughters.  They need the love of Jesus to bring them people to lift them up.

  • Lift up Pastor Reggie who along with his Middle School leaders, will be heading up to Winter Camp with 80+ Middle School students. Pray for travel mercies and a hedge of protection around the bus and vehicles getting them up there, pray for the Holy Spirit to knock their socks off, pray for amazing memories and for many lives and hearts to be transformed.  Pray the messages are received with open eyes and ears and hearts.

  • Pray for my granddaughter who is leaving her job because the company has changed.

  • Please pray for our missionaries to Canada, Marlon and Becca Brown who sent the following updates and prayer requests:

    • Our little church- this past Sunday after we had a hard week, Marlon had prayed for faith because it’s very rare to see someone new come into church, and it’s hard getting our regular church members to come. With Vancouver being so dark and so, so anti God, it just really takes a long time of building relationships. It’s a slow process and that can be so discouraging. Church planting in inner city is not an easy task.

So this past week, he showed up at church. And there was a new family,  and that as church was beginning more family came. It was the first time we had a full room, we had to use extra chairs. It was crazy! Marlon almost cried because of how God is working. It’s not about numbers, but to see people wanting to come in and here about Jesus was so exciting!

Prayers the Lord would continue to work in this little church, and that he would provide provision for the rent and for the supplies we need.

    • Prayer for the teens in our community. We volunteered this past season to coach a boys high school team. It was really cool, but the boys are struggling, they don’t really have parents involved,  and they barely show up to school. So we have been investing in them. Marlon tries to hang out with them and take them out. They come over and hang. One boy who struggles with severe depression shared with Marlon he is not wanting to live, so please pray for him (R). Also prayers for a place for them to hang out. We want to turn our garage into a teen room for youth studies and hang outs. Prayers for that to come together. Most important that we would trust God to provide how to meet the needs in this community.

    • Prayers for our sister Marta, who lives with us. Her daughter is going through a hard season, her father had left them years ago. And it had affected her badly. She is pulling away and not socializing with kids. She is hurting and feeling abandoned which is hard for Marta to see. We just found her a Christian counsellor here to help her with the pain she feels.

    • Prayers for a family or individual to come to Vancouver to help, or prayer for a person here to serve with us. It’s not easy on Marlon to have no assistant pastor or any friend to help him. It’s not something we want to do alone here. So prayers the Lord would provide someone. We have some friends from Boise praying about it, so prayers the Lord opens that door, or that we would just continue to wait upon Him to provide in His timing.

Sorry if my spelling and grammar are off, I am sick right now, so seeing words is blurry. Thankful for grace.
