“Therefore David inquired of the Lord, and He said, ‘you shall not go up, circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of  the mulberry trees.’”  2 Samuel V:23.


David was wise to keep in constant contact with His God. He knew that the goals and strategies of his enemies were as fickle as the human heart. The methods he'd used to combat the Philistines in the past might prove ineffective in the future. As a mighty military leader, David did not have to rely on reconnaissance for information, he could access the perfect knowledge of His all-seeing God. In this case, the Lord gave him specific instructions to carry out an ambush instead of a frontal assault. David's God is our God, too. Trust Him to know the best course of action for you, today and always. 

Yesterday we prayed and gained the victory in a certain way, today we need to pray again, for God’s method for yesterday may not be His method for today.

PRAYER REQUESTS

• Please pray for Beckham, a seven-year-old boy with a tumor on his brain stem. He has only been given between three and six months to live. Treatment currently includes radiation, but the doctor says he needs a miracle. Pray for his healing and his family to develop a deep and personal relationship with the Jesus of the Bible.

• Shonia needs a little Christmastime miracle. Pray that she will find full-time employment and a new vehicle for transportation so she can achieve God's calling in her life. Ask that the Lord will help her carry out the Father's perfect plan.

• Please pray for Chris’s mom, Donna, who recently had a stent put in her heart. Doctors think she may have another blockage in the artery in her neck. Pray that she gets the best possible care and that God is glorified in this circumstance.

• Continue to pray for Michelle who has been having sleep issues. She has another appointment at the sleep lab on Tuesday to come up with a treatment plan.

• Pray that the protocol they select is effective. Pray for a young woman who has been the victim of a stalker.  Praise God that the FBI is involved. Pray that this long nightmare will soon be over and that God will be glorified in the process.

• Please continue to pray for Rod and his business dealings. Please ask that the Lord would see the business contract signed at just the right time. Pray that Rod and his wife would walk in the Holy Spirit and not in their own strength.

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, and if we know that He hears us, we know we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. – I John 5:14-15
