DAILY PRAYER REQUESTS

Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, ‘Bring me another vessel’ and he said unto her, ‘There is not another vessel.’  And the oil ceased.  2 Kings 4:6.

Oil often represents the Holy Spirit in Old Testament writing. In this story of God's miraculous provision for a starving widow and her son, valuable oil kept flowing as long as space remained available. It's a remarkable metaphor for our relationship with the Holy Spirit. As long as our hearts are open to Him, the Spirit will flow in and through us. However, once we think we've reached the pinnacle of Christian life, or lose interest in God's Kingdom, the Holy Spirit will cease His influence over us. We will grow cold, hypocritical, and spiritually dead. When we recognize our ongoing need for more of God in our lives, He will faithfully continue to fill us.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for Curtis who recently was hospitalized with an ulcerated colon. Now he is coming down with something. Pray that he will rest and take care of himself.

  • Pray that a Spirit of Intercession will be mightily activated in our church. Pray for more prayer warriors to cover every aspect of every ministry in fervent prayer.

  • Pray for everyone involved in preparing for the Father-Daughter Winter Ball this Friday. Pray that dads and daughters will be blessed by the experience and make great memories that last a lifetime.

  • Brenda from the Growing Old Gracefully Class has a tumor on her thyroid. She is going in tomorrow (Wednesday)  to have it removed and they will biopsy it at that time.  Please keep her in your prayers.

  • Please pray for Sally who has thyroid cancer. She was scheduled to have her thyroid removed this Monday but developed an abscessed tooth that has to be dealt with before they can perform the procedure. Pray that in God’s perfect timing she will be restored to good health.

  • Please pray for Dottie who was admitted to the hospital yesterday in intense abdominal pain and had to stay overnight while doctors try to determine the cause.

  • Please pray for Ruth, an elderly widow, who was recently baptized.  She seemingly has been intimidated into signing away much of her inheritance. She is now in danger of having her property taken by the man who has manipulated her. She needs legal representation, help with moving, and general support and encouragement in the Lord. Please pray God sends her provision, protection, and encouragement, in Jesus, through this difficult time.
