DAILY PRAYER REQUESTS

He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him.  Hebrew 11:6.

While the prayer of faith is sure to succeed, our prayers, alas too often resemble the mischievous tricks of children who knock at their neighbors’ houses, and then run away. We often knock at mercy’s door, and then run away, instead of waiting for an entrance and an answer. Thus we act as if we were afraid of having our prayers answered.

It is the prayer into which the whole soul goes in an intensity of desire that lays hold upon God.  These indifferent, heartless, bloodless prayers that we offer and soon forget what we ask for count little with Him.

Moody’s evangelistic work in Chicago. He was superintendent of the forerunner of today’s Moody Bible Institute and pastor of what is now Chicago’s Moody Church. He lived from 1856 until 1928 and was also an author.

To play at praying as children play at ringing bells or knocking at doors deserves the severest condemnation, and yet how much of our praying is marked by that attitude? When we fail to take prayer seriously; when we fail to understand the power and privilege it holds, we do not believe that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

  • We are thankful for your prayers. We are thankful for you all and your concern for Sarah!  Sarah is in Honduras and working with special-needs orphans.  Pleases pray for health as many of the team members are sick. She appreciates you lifting her up and so do we.

  • Please pray for Joe and Laurie. Joe has Parkinson's disease and is currently experiencing rapid mental deterioration. Pray for God to provide grace in his heart to persevere in this tribulation. Pray for Laurie especially, to walk by faith by the power of the Spirit loving her husband and not being afraid of whatever may happen nor losing sight of the God who is over all and working all for good. Pray for comfort and consolation in the hope of eternity with Christ.

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, and if we know that He hears us, we know we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. - I John 5:14-15
